Grape Creek VFD seeks help identifying ‘Lake Gardens Bandit’

SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — The Grape Creek Volunteer Fire Department is asking for the community’s help in identifying the “Lake Gardens Bandit,” an individual caught on camera breaking into and stealing from one of the department’s buildings.

According to an announcement released by the Grape Creek VFD, the suspect broke into the old Lake Gardens Meat Processing plant, located at 8325 US Highway 87 N, at 11:27 p.m. on Thursday, May 9.

Upon entering the building, the man began to steal copper materials from its interior and exterior electrical components. He didn’t do so undetected, however.

A hunting camera installed following a separate break-in at a Grape Creek VFD building in spring caught the suspect in the act. The individual discovered the camera and stole it before leaving the property.

The fire department asks anyone capable of providing information or identifying the man to contact the Tom Green Sheriff’s Office at (325) 655-8111.

“We appreciate our community’s support and assistance on this matter,” Grape Creek VFD said.
