Here's a story out of Grand Rapids, Mich., that might make you squeal with delight.
Police got a report of a lost pig, which they thought was a joke. Not long after, the previously absent oinker simply showed up next to officer Jeremy Huffman's car and was rescued.
The 6-month-old potbellied pig named “Ramone” had slipped out of his home when his owner wasn’t looking, Lt. Michael Maycroft of the Grand Rapids Police Department told local station Fox 17.
A woman who identified herself as Christine Smith on the Grand Rapids Police Department's Facebook page said she is neighbors with Ramone’s owner and that the pig is “awesome” and “the character of our neighborhood.” She said she helped Ramone’s owner look for Ramone after he went missing.
Ramone wound up being delivered home in the backseat of Huffman's police car. “The irony there is not lost upon us,” Maycroft said with a smile.
The department posted a picture of Ramone in the car on its Facebook page. As of Monday afternoon, it had received more than 1,400 likes.
There’s no word on whether Ramone went “wee wee wee” all the way home.
