When is graduation? Commencement dates for New Jersey colleges, universities

Congratulations future graduates! The time is almost here to turn your tassel and toss your cap in the air.

As May quickly approaches, college and university students around New Jersey are preparing for spring graduation. Most are studying for finals, some are hoping for nice weather to accompany their outdoor ceremonies, and many are ready to walk the stage after multiple long years of pandemic college, hard work, and (hopefully) a lot of fun and memories made.

In anticipation of upcoming graduation ceremonies, here is a breakdown of New Jersey schools and their commencement dates.

North Jersey colleges and universities

  • Caldwell University: Graduate ceremony on Saturday, May 18 at 6:30 p.m.; Undergraduate ceremonies on Sunday, May 19 at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

  • Centenary University: Master and doctoral ceremony on Wednesday, May 1 at 6 p.m.; Undergraduate ceremonies on Saturday, May 4 at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.

  • Drew University: Friday, May 10 at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.; Saturday, May 11 at 10 a.m.

  • Fairleigh Dickinson University: Wednesday, May 15 at 9:30 a.m.

  • Felician University: Thursday, May 23 at 9:30 a.m.

  • Kean University: Graduate ceremony on Tuesday, May 14; Undergraduate ceremony on Thursday, May 16

  • Montclair State University: Monday, May 13 at 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.

  • New Jersey City University: May 15 at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

  • New Jersey Institute of Technology: Master and Ph.D ceremonies on Wednesday, May 15 at 9 a.m., 1:30 p.m., and 5 p.m.; Undergraduate ceremony on Friday, May 17 at 9 a.m.

  • Ramapo College: Wednesday, May 29 at 8:40 a.m.

  • Georgian Court University: Undergraduate ceremony on Thursday, May 9 at 12:30 p.m.; Graduate ceremony on Thursday, May 9 at 5 p.m.

  • Monmouth University: Graduate ceremony on Wednesday, May 8 at 10 a.m.; Undergraduate ceremony on Thursday, May 9 at 10 a.m., 1 p.m., and 4 p.m.

  • Princeton University: Tuesday, May 28 at 9:40 a.m.

  • Rider University: Graduate and doctoral ceremony on Saturday, May 11 at 9:30 a.m.; Undergraduate ceremony on Saturday, May 11 at 1:30 p.m.

  • Rowan University: University commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 4 at 10 a.m.; Individual college commencement ceremonies on Monday, May 6 through Thursday, May 9 (times vary based on college)
