Grab a taste of Korea on your next trip to this Stop & Shop location

QUINCY − After five months of enticing shoppers and drivers-by with a "coming soon" sign, Bonchon opens its doors next to Stop & Shop on Newport Avenue in North Quincy on Wednesday, March 20, at 11 a.m.

On Monday, after four days of training, the kitchen hummed as cooks, servers and managers practiced newly acquired skills. All day they served wings, chicken sandwiches and traditional Korean morsels like Japchae and pickled radishes to family, friends and Stop & Shop employees just off their shifts.

Diners will share the large grocery store parking lot with shoppers, and two spots will be reserved for those picking up takeout orders.

The 19,000-square-foot space in North Quincy, once occupied by a Supercuts hair salon, can accommodate 14 to 16 diners, franchisee Jack Tran said, with most of the space devoted to the kitchen.
