GoT's ep3 was packed with drama and viewers can't cope

Now that we have just about stopped happily humming the Game of Thrones intro music after a frankly fantastic episode of action, suspense and raw emotion, we can just about come back down to earth and think properly about what we just witnessed.

Absolutely loads of big goings-on went off in tonight's Game of Thrones showing, and here are the highlights of people's reactions to what they were seeing.

So dive in to get a spoilerific flavour of what went on, through the medium of tweets.

The episode kicked off with the meeting of Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen – a tense exchange in which the Mother of Dragons demanded that the King of the North would bend his knee before her. Jon wasn't having any of it, and was more keen to explain the dangers of the undead...

A little later on Cersei had a pow-wow with none other Mark Gatiss, who so many people recognise and Mycroft from Sherlock Holmes:

Emotional scenes played out at Sansa was reunited with Bran – but things got a little weird as Bran attempted to explain that he was the Three-Eyed Raven:

Samwell was top of the class after he helped to heal Jorah – but all he did was read instructions:

But after all the night's action, the stand-out scene was Olenna accepting poison from Jaime Lannister – before checking out by admitting it was her behind Joffrey's death:

Game of Thrones airs on HBO in the US and was simulcast on Sky Atlantic.
