Gordo man dies after single-vehicle crash on Interstate 20/59 in Tuscaloosa County
A Gordo man has died after a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 20/59 in Tuscaloosa County.
Alabama troopers said 22-year-old Emmanuel Martinez sustained critical injuries around 11 p.m. Saturday when the 1996 GMC Sierra he was driving left the road, struck a ditch and then a tree.
Martinez was taken to DCH Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead on Sunday. Troopers said Martinez was not wearing a seat belt.
The crash occurred about 3 miles north of the city of Tuscaloosa.
Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Highway Patrol Division are investigating the crash.
