GOP SOTU rebuttal cheapened by 'border lies'

In the future, the term “Republican rebuttal” will offer scant credible meaning. We keep looking to the Party of Lincoln for a little love and some honesty. Instead they give us craven disdain and abject mistruths, as delivered by Alabama Sen. Katie Britt in her party’s rebuttal to the State of the Union address. Not only did it look contrived and disingenuous, it included blatant lies intended to tie a young girl’s sexual slavery experiences to President Biden’s current border policies.

Sen. Britt intimates that 12-year-old Karla Jacinto was raped while Biden was in office, when in fact, as detailed in a 2015 congressional hearing, the sad and disgusting trauma inflicted upon Ms. Jacinto occurred when Biden was a U.S. senator and George. W. Bush was president. Sen. Britt lied again when she suggested that the rapes occurred on U.S. soil when they actually occurred in Mexico. So, the next time we see “Republican rebuttal,” we’ll know what to think.

Congressional candidate takes issue with Cerabino

In a Feb. 28 column, Frank Cerabino acknowledges my family has lived in Palm Beach County many generations and I am in a primary against other Republicans very new to Florida.  Cerabino then goes on a bizarre tirade, mocking me and claiming I often “attack” Democrat Lois Frankel by calling her a “carpetbagger.” It never happened.

I find Cerabino’s defending a “damsel in distress” story ridiculous. Democrat Lois Frankel is not in my Republican primary. She has been here several decades and uses that advantage to criticize opponents for not knowing the district and voter needs. Obviously “carpetbagger” applies to my Republican opponents. A renter of mere months, Andrew Gutmann from New Jersey admits he’s never registered to vote in his life.

Dan Franzese, a lifetime New Yorker, moved to Florida after COVID and is trying to buy a congressional seat, again. In 2022 he self-funded  $1.4 million in the primary. Yet, tied to a recount with me spending $200,000.  He lost by 10.5 points [in the general election] even with Gov. Ron DeSantis on the ballot. Adam Hasner was Frankel's first Republican opponent. Even in a blue wave, Hasner remains best with -9 to Frankel.  It’s time to renew.

Why is angry Cerabino reading my website at all?

'Chips' letter seems like hot air

Re the March 9 letter "Biden jumped on the 'wrong chips:" The letter writer says that reduced fill in a potato chip bag is one way for business to compensate against inflation and wage increases for which Joe Biden is responsible. Let’s give a big cheer for the guy who thinks “bait and switch” is the responsible way for businesses to operate.
