GOP Rep.'s Request For Reading Recommendations Goes Spectacularly Awry
Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-N.Y.) on Monday asked people on Twitter to recommend reading material for 2020.
But her request likely did not elicit the response she was hoping for.
As a Member of the @EdLaborGOP, I believe passionately in the importance of reading & #literacy. At the end of every year, I share my personal reading list which my constituents ask me about during the year. Thx #NY21 fellow bookworms for your recs! https://t.co/BsNc3Xekjk 📚🐛👩🏻🏫

Comment with recommendations for the 2020 reading list 👩🏻🏫

Many tweeters snarkily suggested the U.S. Constitution to Stefanik, who staunchly defended President Donald Trump during the House impeachment proceedings .
Some highlighted former President Barack Obama’s reading list from 2019.
Others recommended her Oath of Office, former special counsel Robert Mueller’s report into Russia interference in the 2016 election and Trump’s own tweets.

I would start with the Constitution of the United States 🇺🇸.

You ought to read the Mueller report, then.
It’s even on Audible.— Eli$e’s Oath of Office (@CurmudgeonCD21) December 30, 2019
This wasn't a well thought out tweet.

(1) The US Constitution.
(2) Your Oath of Office.
(3) Transcripts of the under-oath testimony of Intel and Judiciary Committee witnesses.
(4) Trump’s insane, demented, unhinged tweets.
(5) The Mueller Report.
(6) Your Oath of Office... again.

Start with the Constitution, the The Federalist papers.

The US Constitution.

I'd suggest that Stefanik and her colleagues begin with the United States Constitution. And if they've got time, move on to the Federalist papers. https://t.co/6gKkvbhgC6
