Google (GOOG) may be preparing a major upgrade for its flagship 10-inch tablet. The Nexus 10 is equipped with a 1.7GHz dual-core Exynos processor and Mali-T604 GPU. Due to the tablet’s massive 2560 x 1600 pixel resolution display, however, consumers have noticed significant lag and other performance hiccups. According to a report from Bright Side of News, the company may boost the specs to a quad-core processor and a new 8-core Mali-T678 GPU, while the other internal hardware, such as the high-end display and 2GB of RAM, are expected to remain the same. Bright Side of News speculates that Google will announce the slate at Mobile World Congress in February. Pricing is expected to be the same as the current Nexus 10.
