Golden Gate Ferry service between SF and Sausalito to resume

SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — Golden Gate Ferry service between Sausalito and San Francisco is set to resume Wednesday, the ferry service announced. Ferry service between the two destinations was suspended for more than a week after damage was discovered on the Sausalito pier.

A routine inspection on Friday, April 19 revealed damage to one of the pier’s four pylons. All Sausalito ferry service was suspended until repairs to the pier could be completed “out of an abundance of caution” the ferry service said.

Tesla to lay off hundreds more employees, according to reports

Contractors completed repairs to the pylons this week, the ferry service said. The pier was reinspected and has been deemed safe to resume ferry operations.

During the service suspension, bus bridge service between SF and Sausalito has been provided by Golden Gate Transit.
