Going for the Gold! Madonna’s Daughter Mercy Takes Home Four Medals at Gymnastics Competition

Mercy, David and Madonna came together to promote the new Pediatric Surgery Hospital in Blantyre in 2016.

Does the Final Five need a sixth member of their team? Because Madonna‘s daughter Mercy James might be ready to join them!

On Sunday, the star and proud mom took to Instagram to share her love and support for her 10-year-old daughter.

“Mercy James takes home 4 Medals!” the pop icon, 58, captioned a photo of her beaming daughter with four medals from a gymnastics competition around her neck.

Soon after, Madonna shared another photo of Mercy holding hands with several other competitors on a podium.

“Go Mercy James!!! It’s all about team Work!” she wrote in the post.

Madonna found Mercy at Kondanani Children’s Village in the town of Bvumbwe when she first visited Malawi in October 2006, the same time she found her son David Banda, now 11, at a different orphanage. Mercy was placed at Children’s Village following the death of her teenage mother.

Mercy’s big competition comes just two days after Madonna made headlines after saying she was “still in love” with ex-husband Sean Penn onstage at a charity gala she hosted in Miami on Friday night.

“I’m still in love with you,” she told Penn — as seen in video on Bethenny Frankel’s Snapchat.

The event raised more than $7.5 million for Malawi, the birthplace of Mercy and David, the Associated Press reported.
