Gogglebox cast hilariously confused by Netflix's One Day

Tonight's (March 1) episode of Gogglebox saw the cast get confused by Netflix's One Day in a hilarious clip.
During the premiere episode of the hit romance drama, the TV watchers were quick to point out their confusion when main character Emma revealed she was "just gonna put a tape on" during a one-night stand.
"Putting a tape on? What tape?" said a bewildered Georgia Bell, to which her friend Abbie Lynn replied: "Tape where?"

As the camera then panned to Emma reaching for her cassette player, Amira Rota said: "Oh! Cassette player! Oh, it's 1988!"
"I forget what year this is!" replied her sister Amani, with Amira hilariously adding: "I thought it was like codeword for getting protection or something."
The show's viewers were quick to share their reactions to the misunderstanding on X — formerly Twitter. "Ahh a cassette tape, thought it was a code word for protection," one person wrote, alongside a group of laughing emojis.
"The reaction to the tape is killing me," another added, while a third viewer said: "I just adore Amira and Amani they are so so funny."

As One Day continued, Emma and her love interest Dexter decided to part ways after their night spent together. "I'll see you round, maybe? Have a nice life," said Emma, before walking away.
"What do you mean will all this non-committal language?" said Danielle Hylton in response, with Amira adding: "God if someone said that to me, that would be a blow to my heart. I'd never leave my house again."
Tonight's episode also saw the professional TV watchers react to the latest episode of The Apprentice, Married at First Sight Australia and coming-of-age drama Boarders.
Gogglebox airs and streams on Friday nights at 9pm on Channel 4.
