Initial reports said the 23-year-old was reportedly beaten to death by a group of about 10 people outside a bar on the island of Zakynthos. Henderson was with his friends when a Serbian national approached him and started a fight. The bar security asked the two men to leave and they continued their fight outside. Reasons behind the brawl are still unknown, state news agency of ANA-MPA reported.

Henderson had gone to Greece on May 17, 2017, for a photo-shoot for the launch of his new clothing line. "Bakari loved spending time with family and friends, traveling, and meeting new people. He was a big thinker and enjoyed coming up with new business ventures. Bakari was an inspiration to all he met. He loved life and lived it to the fullest," the Henderson family said in statement to CNN affiliate KXAN.

Friends of the Henderson described him as a "peacemaker," and not the type of person to get into fights . "Bakari was not one to act aggressively like that," Jenkins told ABC News. "He was always the one who was the peacemaker."

Henderson graduated from Eller College of Management, University of Arizona in May with a bachelor's degree in business finance and entrepreneurship, along with a certificate in sports management. He also interned with the Texas Speaker of the House of Representatives and the Texas State Senate, Washington Post reported.

It is always a tragedy when a young life ends before it has really yet to begin. We also are working with his student organizations and the affiliations he had on campus to offer support to those who knew Bakari,” the statement read.

A 32-year-old Serbian and a 34-year-old Greek national were arrested shortly after the fight, ANA-MPA reported. The report said both men worked at the bar. Six other Serbian nationals were later arrested after police recognized them from surveillance cameras.
