Godfrey-Lee cancels classes after teacher’s death

WYOMING, Mich. (WOOD) — Godfrey-Lee Public Schools has canceled Friday classes at Lee Middle School and Lee High School because of the death of a teacher, the superintendent confirms.

Carlos Lozano, listed as a math teacher at Lee Middle School, has died, Superintendent Arnetta Thompson told News 8.

“Our whole staff and community are grieving,” she said.

Lozano had been with the district for four years, according to Thompson.

The district said in a social media post that Friday classes are canceled for students in grades six through 12. Students at East Lee Campus will still have class, as will students from kindergarten through fifth grade.
