GJPD responds to menacing incident

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — On Wednesday morning, the Grand Junction Police Department responded to a report of a man threatening another with a knife near the 2500 block of Highway 6 and 50.

Officials arrived on scene and began looking for the suspect, who’d left the scene on foot. A shelter-in-place was initiated for the city’s daycare facility while they looked for him.

A short time later, officers located and arrested 24-year-old Trey Romero, charging him with felony menacing.

The GJPD believes this to be an isolated incident posing no danger to the community. The incident is under active investigation and no further information is available at this time.
