GirlsDoPorn owner extradited from Spain to face sex trafficking charges

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — GirlsDoPorn owner Michael Pratt, who faces sex trafficking charges, was arraigned and entered a not-guilty plea on Tuesday, prosecutors said. He was extradited to San Diego from Spain on Monday after his arrest in December 2022.

Pratt, 36, is accused of deceiving and coercing young women, most of whom are in their late teens, and at least one minor victim to appear in pornographic videos, the Office of the United States Attorney Southern District Of California said in a news release Tuesday. He faces 19 felony counts linked to the GirlsDoPorn operation.

Pratt, along with his co-defendants, recruited victims from the United States and Canada using internet advertisements for clothed modeling jobs, according to prosecutors. Prosecutors allege that the defendants told the women they would remain anonymous and that their videos would be provided only to private collectors on DVD in foreign countries and not be posted on the internet, even though prosecutors say the defendants knew this to be false.

The video productions, which took place in San Diego at local hotels and short-term rental units, did not allow the women to leave the shooting locations until the videos were completed, prosecutors said. If they did not abide, the women were allegedly threatened with lawsuits, their flights home were canceled or they were forced to perform certain sex acts, prosecutors said.

Prior to Pratt’s arrest, he was an international fugitive for more than three years and named to the FBI’s Top Ten Most Wanted list in early 2022.

Pratt’s business partner, Matthew Isaac Wolfe, on Tuesday was also sentenced to 14 years in prison for his role in the sex commercial trafficking ring, prosecutors said. Wolfe admitted to persuading women to appear in the videos by telling them that the videos would never be posted online, that the videos would never be released in the U.S. and that no one who knew the women would ever find out about the videos.

Pratt’s detention hearing is scheduled for Thursday at 3 p.m., while a motion hearing/trial is set for April 19 at 1:30 p.m.
