While the Eagles started the game hot, they quickly cooled down. After shooting 50% in the opening quarter, the Eagles combined to shoot 3-27 over the next two quarters.

As Eldorado stopped making shots, Sandia started to. Sydney Benally totaled 19 first-half points behind 5-6 three point shooting. The Matadors went on to shoot 23-45 for the game and 11-20 from three-point range.

Benally led the way with 21 points while Eldorado’s Bella Hines finished with 20.

Sandia now returns to the semi-finals on Thursday. The Matadors will meet either Farmington or Organ Mountain at 9:45 a.m.
