Girl Praised After Offering Her Coat To Stray Dog During Heavy Downpour
A schoolgirl has been praised for an act of true selflessness after she was pictured protecting a tiny dog from heavy rain in Peru.
The teenager, named as Daniela Segura Morales, is pictured bending down next to the dog and using her jacket to keep it dry as the downpour continues.
The heartwarming photos were taken in the city of Huancayo in the south central region of Junin and have now gone viral after they were shared more than 205,000 times on Facebook.
A caption accompanying the photo read: ‘To see there are still people who care about animals fills me with happiness.
‘See her drying the little dog with her blazer without caring what anyone thinks says a lot, if we all followed her example, I assure you this would be a different country.’
Praising the act, one Facebook user wrote: ‘Round of applause for you. Carry on protecting and caring for the animals who need it. Blessings!’
Another added: ‘Daniela Segura Morales you are amazing, we should all give love to animals like you, you are a great example.
‘Congratulations on your big heart, animals are the angels of god, good vibes for you and that god blesses you in all that you do ;).’
But Daniela was seemingly overwhelmed by the reaction, commenting on the photo: ‘I don’t know what to say.’
Stray animals are known to be a common site in Peru - with large numbers of abandoned animals known to wander the streets.
