Gina Carano Cast as Angel Dust in Deadpool Movie
With Ryan Reynolds revealing the prototype mask for Deadpool yesterday, fans seem pretty excited for the upcoming Deadpool film from Fox. There's even more to talk about now since The Hollywood Reporter revealed that actress and MMA fighter Gina Carno will be appearing in Deadpool as Angel Dust.
Carano just closed the deal to join the cast for Deadpool, which will be directed by Tim Miller and produced by Lauren Shuler Donner. T.J. Miller will bring comedic relief to the film in a role that has yet to be revealed and fans will be happy to know that Colossus is also set to appear in the film as well.
Angel Dust is one of the Morlocks, a mutant group that lives underground. She primarily appeared in the 2002 limited series MORLOCKS, by Geoff Johns and Shawn Martinbrough. The character has the ability to raise her adrenaline levels to give herself super-strength, speed, and stamina. At this time, it is unknown how the Morlocks or Angel Dust will fit into the story.
Deadpool is slated to hit theaters on February 12, 2016.
