Gilmore Girls: New Revival Photos Feature Jess, Friday Night Dinner
Netflix dropped another fresh batch of Gilmore Girls photo assets on Tuesday, one of which offers a first look at the return of the series’ signature Friday Night Dinner.

The streamer is also treating fans to their first official glimpse of Milo Ventimiglia’s Jess (deep in discussion with his Uncle Luke — played by Scott Patterson — inside the latter’s eponymous diner) as well as some new single shots of Lauren Graham’s Lorelai and Alexis Bledel’s Rory.
But it’s the Friday Night Dinner image that packs the biggest emotional punch given the absence of patriarch Richard (played by the late Edward Hermann). Over the summer, Graham said the death of Richard gives the four-episode revival (out Nov. 25) “a depth and emotional complexity that felt like, ‘Here’s the show, [only] more grown-up” and that plays into “all the choices the characters” make.
That’s particular true of Kelly Bishop‘s newly-widowed Emily, who is forced to explore, “What does the death of a husband mean to a woman who had a life very specific to her all of these years?” previews series creator Amy Sherman-Palladino. “And where does she go from here?”
