Giants sign DT Rogers

The New York Giants re-signed defensive tackle Shaun Rogers on Thursday.

Rogers joined the team in April 2012. He started the preseason opener in Jacksonville, but experienced swelling in his calf. He was later diagnosed with a blood clot in his leg and placed on injured reserve Aug. 31.

Before the Giants, the 13-year-veteran appeared in 156 regular-season games with the Detroit Lions, Cleveland Browns and New Orleans Saints.

Earlier this week, the Giants released defensive tackle Chris Canty, linebacker Michael Boley and running back Ahmad Bradshaw.
