Giant donates over $20,000 to Central Dauphin School District food program

(WHTM)– A program that keeps students fed after school hours received a boost.

CD nutri-packs provide food directly to students who are food insecure in the Central Dauphin School District. The Giant company gave the program over $21,000 on Tuesday as part of its Feeding School Kids initiative.

“Nutrition is very important to a child’s education, to their upbringing, to their learning, when they need to come to school when they’re hungry, they can’t learn,” CD nutri-packs Director Pam Jones said. “They can’t focus on what they’re supposed to be learning so nutrition and good food is very important.”
