Giant, 11-Foot Alligator Captured After It Was Seen Eating Ducks in Florida Lake

A huge, 11-foot-long alligator has been captured after keeping a Florida community on edge as it was found lurking in a backyard.

The reptile, seen in video taken by WKMG, had been eating ducks in the Orlando neighborhood and residents feared what the animal might develop a taste for next.

"My daughter and I sat on the porch last week and watched him eat a duck in the middle of the lake," resident Anne Ferguson told WKMG. "So I know he’s out here trying to find food."

This isn’t the first time a gator has appeared in the backyard. There was previously a 14-foot beast captured in the area, and residents said they see them often.

The gator was caught and later killed by a trapper.

Gators 4 feet or longer cannot be relocated, according to a trapper who cited Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission rules.
