Giancarlo Stanton joins 'The Tonight Show,' still doesn't know how to eat a Kit Kat
Giancarlo Stanton responded to the Yankees’ boo birds, addressed his Kit Kat eating habits and led the iconic “Let’s Go Yankees” chant on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” on Friday night.
Stanton tried to make nice with the fans that have booed him.
Yankees fans can be notoriously difficult to please, and Stanton found that out the hard way quickly, posting a slash line of just .230/.313/.425 through April. That’s certainly not the type of production expected out of a player who is set to make roughly $300 million over the next 11 years. But Stanton has turned it around in May, slashing .297/.369/.608. He also has 11 home runs to his name this season, tied for 12th in the American League and two behind Aaron Judge for the team lead. He’s still struggling at home, but a strong last few weeks has given him some leeway to have some fun on Fallon’s show Friday.

Stanton still doesn’t know how to eat a Kit Kat bar.
The Bronx Bombers star made waves a few seasons ago as a member of the Marlins when then-teammate Dee Gordon exposed how Stanton eats Kit Kats:

Despite Fallon’s best efforts to change this strange habit on Friday, Stanton remained steadfast in his ways:
Stanton ended the segment leading the classic ‘Let’s Go Yankees’ chant.
Stanton made sure to take the “Yankee Oath” and ended the segment with a “Let’s Go Yankees” chant.
That should put him in the good graces of Yankees faithful as he continues to break out of his early-season slump.
