"Sources close to the government say there is concern that Ukraine could become overconfident if it experiences a string of battlefield victories and rolls into Russian territory – which would mean that German tanks would once again be inside Russia," reads the report.
"It is a concern that highlights a certain distrust in Berlin of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. And that, too, is a reason why the defense industry in Germany has not been authorized to deliver battle tanks."

Earlier, the German media outlet Welt am Sonntag reported that over the past nine weeks, the government of Olaf Scholz in Germany had minimized the supply of weapons to Ukraine.
It was reported that only two small batches of weapons arrived in Ukraine between March 30 and May 26. In mid-May, Germany sent 3,000 anti-tank mines and 1,600 specialized anti-tank mines.

On May 28, German Ambassador to Kyiv Anka Feldhusen announced that the German government had made a final decision on the supply of heavy weapons to Ukraine.
Amid criticism of Scholz's ambiguous position, the Bundestag on April 26 approved the supply of heavy weapons to Ukraine.

Scholz later rejected criticism and assured that Germany would continue to provide Kyiv with weapons to fight the war unleashed by Russia. However, criticism in the Bundestag against him continues.
