Hosts Germany will play their final Euro 2024 tune-up matches against Ukraine and Greece, the German Football Federation (DFB) said on Tuesday.

The game against Ukraine will be on June 3 in Nuremberg and that against Greece four days later in Mönchengladbach.

Germany open the Euros on June 14 against Scotland, with Hungary and Switzerland their other group stage opponents.

"Ukraine and Greece are two combative, passionate teams - we've had our difficulties with opponents of this type recently," coach Julian Nagelsmann said in the DFB statement.

"That's why these two teams are exactly the right tests after the upcoming duels with the strong top nations France and the Netherlands."

Germany play France in Lyon on Saturday and the Netherlands three days later in Frankfurt.

Ukraine and Greece are part of the play-offs for three remaining berths at the Euros.

Germany draw 3-3 with Ukraine last year and their last match against Greece was a 4-2 victory in the Euro 2012 quarter-finals.

Germany start their Euro preparations with a May 26-31 camp in the eastern part of the country before moving into their tournament base camp in Herzogenaurach, with the matches against Ukraine and Greece part of these final preparations.

"The last international matches before the start of the tournament are always something special. The team is in the middle of its preparations, every single player is fighting for their place in the team and the national coach can try out the final details," sporting director Rudi Völler said.
