Germany arrests two more suspects linked to politician murder

BERLIN, June 27 (Reuters) - German police have arrested two suspects in connection with the murder of a pro-immigration politician shot dead by a far-right sympathiser who has confessed to the crime, a spokeswoman for the Federal Prosecutor's Office said on Thursday.

The spokeswoman declined to confirm a report by Der Spiegel magazine that one of the suspects had sold the gun used by Stephen E. to shoot Walter Luebcke, who was found lying in a pool of blood outside his home in the state of Hesse on June 2.

"There have been two arrests," the spokeswoman said, adding that more details would be made public later in the day. (Reporting by Holger Hansen Writing by Joseph Nasr Editing by Michelle Martin)
