NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) — A 57-year-old Georgia woman was arrested by North Myrtle Beach police April 5 after allegedly driving a stolen car and possessing illegal drugs, according to a police report obtained by News13.

Mary Gano was charged with first offense driving under suspension, possession of drug paraphernalia, no driver’s license in possession, transporting liquor with the seal broken, distributing crack cocaine, possession of stolen vehicle, trafficking heroin, and trafficking fentanyl.

Gano is currently booked at the J. Reuben Long Detention Center under a $136,447.50 bond, online booking records show. Gano had two prior drug convictions from February 15, 2018, and October 31, 2023, the report said.

North Myrtle Beach police were alerted of a stolen vehicle bearing a North Carolina tag last seen travelling north bound on Highway 17, the report said.

A police officer spotted the vehicle on Highway 17 and confirmed through dispatch that the tag matched the stolen vehicle’s tag.

The officer conducted a felony traffic stop and found that Gano was operating the vehicle. Gano told police that a friend let her operate the vehicle, the report said.

While arresting Gano, officers found that Gano had a warrant from probation and parole for narcotics, the report said.

Inside the vehicle, police found a Cîroc vodka bottle and a pink rose Tequilla bottle with the seal broken and liquor inside, the report said.

Police also found 9.18 grams of heroin and 11.89 grams of Fentanyl, the report said. A container containing 2.05 grams of methamphetamine was also found along with various IDs and cards that did not belong to Gano, the report said.

Two cellphones and a kindle were also seized by police. Miscellaneous drug paraphernalia was found throughout the vehicle including: a spoon with white residue, two bowls associated with narcotics use, and grinders, the report said.
