Georgia fans turn another road stadium into a dominant red-and-black sea

True road games are pretty much nonexistent for No. 5 Georgia.

And it’s not because the team doesn’t travel – they do. But so far this season, road stadiums have been filled with a red-and-black barrage of fans.

Saturday afternoon at Vanderbilt Stadium was no different. The Georgia faithful packed the stadium, leaving scant room for Vanderbilt fans to make their presence felt.

Georgia fans have been known to travel extremely well over the years, but looking at Vanderbilt Stadium on Saturday, they really outdid themselves this time.

This isn’t the first time Georgia’s spirited fan base has made headlines this season either. Remember the Georgia-Notre Dame game in September? The one where some Georgia fans declined a Delta Airlines offer for $3,000 to give up their seat and take a later flight to South Bend? (One woman did give up her seat when the offer was bumped to $4,000.)

Well, Bulldogs fans are committed. We will give them that.

The Bulldogs didn’t disappoint their traveling fans on Saturday as they ran away with a 45-14 win over Vanderbilt, improving to 6-0, 3-0 in the conference. Georgia running back Nick Chubb led the way with 16 carries for 138 yards and two touchdowns.

With the Bulldogs building up a 21-7 halftime lead against Vanderbilt, Chubb also passed the 4,000 rushing yards mark for his college career. The only other Bulldogs tailback to reach that mark was Herschel Walker. Walker ran for 5,259 yards from 1980 to 1982.

Chubb is the eighth player in SEC history to surpass 4,000 career rushing yards.
