Georgetown deputies looking for man who fled from traffic stop

GEORGETOWN COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — Deputies are searching for a man they fled from a Murrells Inlet traffic stop on Tuesday night.

Rodriquis Jaheem Matthews, 22, is 5-foot-7 inches tall and weighs 125 pounds. Authorities say he took on foot about 8:30 p.m. after deputies stopped a vehicle occupied by a man and woman.

Authorities recovered 155 grams of suspected marijuana and a firearm from the vehicle. Warrants for Matthews have been obtained for having an open container, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, driving under suspension, second offense, felon in possession of a firearm and hindering law enforcement.
