George County’s Deuce Knight announces transfer to Lipscomb Academy in Tennessee

George County quarterback Deuce Knight announced via Twitter his transfer to Lipscomb Academy in Tennessee for the upcoming season.

Knight is a 6-foot-4 class of 2025 prospect that holds offers from Alabama, Georgia, Oregon, Ole Miss and others. He is a four star recruit on 247sports.com and was one of the Coast’s leading returning passers.

The rising junior threw for 1,929 yards and 11 touchdowns as a sophomore for the Rebels.

He’s the second top prospect from South Mississippi to transfer out of state this summer, joining wide receiver Dillon Alfred.

“I would like to take the time to express my appreciation and gratitude to everyone at George County High School, from the administration staff, teachers, coaches, teammates classmates who made my time at George County High School a great one,” Knight said on Twitter.

Lipscomb Academy is led by NFL Hall of Famer Kevin Mawae and is considered one of the top prep football programs in the country. The Mustangs are on a 21-game win streak and open the season against IMG Academy (Fl.) and Alfred’s Saraland (Al.) team.
