Hopefully you’re ready for more super-powered insanity and gross misuse of extraordinary skills because The Boys spin-off Gen V has been renewed for a second series on Prime Video.

With the show’s first outing, we met the young heroes of tomorrow while they were busy studying at Godolkin University, a place for those with special abilities. Well, we say studying – as the show progressed, it wasn't long before they were drawn into a mystery with dark consequences and plenty of blood.

With a second outing entering early production, we’ll soon be able to find out just how deep the rabbit hole goes. Here’s everything we know so far about Gen V’s second series.

Gen V season two is currently in the very early days of its development and as such, doesn’t have a confirmed release date just yet.

In fact, at the time we’re writing this, season one hasn’t even wrapped up its entire run following its debut on Friday, 29 September 2023.

It’ll officially come to a close on Friday, 3 November when we’ll no doubt be faced with a whole heap of new questions about the show’s future – one of which will be when we can expect to see more.

A trailer for Gen V’s second series is as non-existent as Homelander’s empathy. Sadly, it’s just too early to expect to see any footage from series two but as soon as it lands, you’ll find it here.

Set adjacent to the action currently taking place in The Boys, the first series of Gen V transported the action to Godolkin University.

It’s this educational campus where young heroes go to hone their super skills and with any luck, make it as the newest member of The Seven AKA The Boys’ version of Marvel’s Avengers - just minus any morals.

Guiding us through super Uni is Marie Moreau, a supe with the ability to manipulate blood, and Emma Meyer, a student with the ability to change her size.

Together with metal manipulator Andre Anderson, the telecentic Cate Dunlap and gender-shifting Jordan Li, the group gets involved in a cover-up involving the university’s dark underbelly when their friend and Godolkin’s brightest pupil Golden Boy AKA Luke Riordan dies suddenly.

Soon, they meet Luke’s brother Sam a troubled but incredibly powerful individual with links to a mysterious Godolkin off-shoot referred to only as 'The Woods'. It’s this mystery that these young heroes must crack - and with the series yet to reach its climax, it’s unclear where the tale will take us next.

However, with season two confirmed, we’re sure there are plenty of dark secrets lurking in 'The Woods' that are just waiting to be unearthed.

Anyone familiar with The Boys will know all too well that no one is safe from meeting a gruesome end and this is certainly also true in the world of Gen V.

With characters old and new libel to be killed off at a moment's notice, we can’t say for certain which season one stars will live to see round two - especially considering the show’s first series is yet to conclude.

That said, it’s probably a safe bet that Gen V season two will feature Jaz Sinclair as Marie, Chance Perdomo as Andre and Lizze Broadway’s Emma. It’s highly possible that we’ll also see the return of Maddie Phillips as Cate and Asa Germann’s Sam, alongside Shelley Conn as Indria Shetty, the dual-natured Dean of Godolkin University.

Series one has also seen a few familiar faces from The Boys pop up in brief cameo roles, so perhaps we can expect more of these as the show continues. That said, at this stage, all news about Gen V season two should be taken with a pinch of salt until the creative team behind it make things official.
