DE Geathers reaches three-year deal with Bengals

The Cincinnati Bengals re-signed defensive end Robert Geathers to a three-year deal to undisclosed financial terms just before the deadline Tuesday, Bengals.com. reported.

Geathers, 29, will be entering his 10th season with the Bengals in 2013. He started all 16 games last year and had three sacks, 30 tackles and one tackle for a loss.

With Geathers returning, the Bengals will have both starting defensive ends back from last season. The team used a franchise tag on Michael Johnson. Geathers is expected to compete with fourth-year defensive end Carlos Dunlap during the off-season to retain his starting job.
