Gateway grad Dylan Urban earns AMCC postseason honors at La Roche

May 30—Dylan Urban made the most of his senior season with the La Roche baseball team.

The Gateway graduate and Redhawks center fielder was selected the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference all-star first team after a season in which he finished third on the team in batting with a .366 average.

In 21 games, Urban recorded 30 hits, 11 doubles, two home runs, four stolen bases and 21 RBIs.

He finished with a .402 on-base percentage and a .622 slugging percentage.

He was named AMCC Player of the Week on April 12 after hitting two home runs in four games as the Redhawks began its season 4-0.

Urban graduates with career totals of 127 hits, 75 RBIs, 24 doubles, eight triples and six home runs.

LaRoche finished its spring season 20-3 overall and 15-1 in AMCC play.

The Redhawks fell to Penn State-Behrend in the league championship series May 20.

Corrie tosses season best

Slippery Rock freshman thrower Sarah Corrie made her Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships debut and placed fourth in the shot put with a distance of 12.88 meters (42 feet, 31/4 inches).

The toss was a season best for the Gateway graduate.

Corrie's PSAC outdoor distance ranked fifth in the U.S Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Atlantic Region this spring and earned her Division II All-Region honors.

The top five individuals in each event from each region earned All-Region recognition.

Jones 5th at PSAC meet

Clarion sophomore Shelly Jones recorded the best finish for the Golden Eagles women's track and field on Day 3 of the PSAC championships May 8.

She placed fifth in the shot put with a distance of 12.81 meters (42 feet), just seven centimeters short of former Gators teammate Corrie in the final standings.

The distance was an outdoor career best for Jones and the fifth-best shot put distance in the history of Clarion women's track and field.

The mark also surpassed her previous overall best distance of 12.62 set during the 2020 indoor season.

Lehman earns PAC honors

Caleb Lehman, a junior catcher for the Chatham, earned All-Presidents' Athletic Conference second-team laurels after leading the Cougars in batting with a .393 average.

Lehman started all 32 games he played this spring and recorded a team-leading 45 hits and 19 runs scored. He also led the team with 19 RBIs, 10 doubles and three triples.

Lehman tied for first on the team and in the conference with 19 stolen bases and in on-base percentage (.470).

Chatham finished its season 12-23 overall.

Greggerson takes 5th in hammer

Kristen Greggerson, a veteran collegiate thrower at Seton Hill, placed fifth overall in the hammer throw at the PSAC championships.

Her top attempt sailed 48.29 meters (158 feet, 4 inches).

She added a fifth in the javelin (39.25/128-8) and an eighth in the discus (38.25/125-5), contributing a total of nine team points for the Griffins. Her two fifth-place finishes earned her all-region honors.

Walker a PAC honoree

Saint Vincent sophomore starting quarterback Brady Walker earned Presidents' Athletic Conference honorable-mention selection for his performance in four games for the Bearcats.

The Gateway grad completed 69 of 107 passes for 880 yards, 10 touchdowns and just two interceptions.

Walker threw a season-best five touchdowns and finished with 329 yards in a 56-26 rout of Waynesburg on April 17.

Through seven games over two seasons with Saint Vincent, Walker has thrown for 1,479 yards and 15 touchdowns.
