Gastonia hotel room drug bust nets almost $1M in cocaine, fentanyl: PD

GASTON COUNTY, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) – A raid on two Gastonia hotel rooms netted nearly $1 million in cocaine and fentanyl, Gaston County Police said on Friday.

Search warrants were issued on Tuesday regarding California residents Esmeralda Dominguez, 51, and Omar Herrera, 49. The warrants stemmed from a previous traffic stop. During a search of two Gastonia hotel rooms, approximately $390,000 in cocaine and $520,000 in fentanyl, according to the police report.

The North Carolina State Highway Patrol and Gaston County Police were among the departments involved in the investigation.

Both face charges that include cocaine trafficking and are being held without bond.
