A Stanley couple has announced that they are the new owners of Pelican’s SnoBalls in Dallas.

The announcement came just days after former owners Stephanie and Chase Causey informed the public that the shop would be moving locations.

According to new owners Breanna and Zach Murphy, Pelican’s SnoBalls will be reopening at 3718 Dallas High Shoals Hwy as early as this month.

Breanna Murphy has known Stephanie Causey for a long time, she said.

The two grew up around one another, and when the Causeys decided to get out of the SnoBall business, Causey reached out to Murphy.

The Murphys had been looking for the right business opportunity for several years, and this seemed like the perfect one.

According to Breanna Murphy, both she and Zach will be keeping their full-time careers in addition to operating Pelican’s.

The couple recently made a post to let the public know they were looking for employees and have already received more than 30 applications.

While they have some light redecorating to do in the new space, the couple hopes to be up and running by the fourth weekend in March, Breanna Murphy said.

The family is looking forward to keeping the store open with two daughters of their own who enjoy Pelican’s.

“My oldest daughter, she is so excited. She calls it the ICEE store,” Murphy said. “We’re just looking to serve the community and have a kid friendly store for people to bring their kids to, and have something, you know, nice to do close by. We hope it’s gonna be busy there.”
