Gasoline prices nearly $4 a gallon in much of Indiana, high of $4.07 in Gary

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) -- Gasoline prices are at nearly $4 a gallon in many metropolitan areas in Indiana, with a high of $4.07 a gallon in Gary.

AAA's Fuel Gauge Report indicates Indiana's average for a gallon of regular unleaded was $3.95 a gallon on Monday. The price was up 3.5 cents from a day earlier, and up 19 cents in a week.

The average cost for a gallon of gasoline on Monday was $3.99 in South Bend and Bloomington, $3.98 in Indianapolis and Fort Wayne and $3.97 in Terre Haute. Evansville had the lowest average price in the state at $3.75, but even that was up 7 cents from a day earlier.

AAA reports gasoline supply problems should ease over the next month as some refinery maintenance comes to an end.
