Gas prices in Rhode Island fall 2 cents in past week in first decline in 2013

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) -- Gasoline prices in Rhode Island have fallen two cents in the past week, the first price drop in the New Year.

AAA Southern New England said Monday that regular unleaded gas averaged $3.52 per gallon.

Prices locally are the same as a month ago and the current price is 21 cents higher than the national average.

Last year at this time, a gallon of regular gasoline averaged $3.50 in Rhode Island.
