Gas prices up a penny in RI
Gas prices climb by a cent in Rhode Island; state price is 14 cents above national average
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) -- Gas prices are up in Rhode Island this week, but only by a penny.
The weekly AAA Southern New England survey released Tuesday found that the average cost of a gallon of regular, self-serve in the state is $3.73, 1 cent higher than last week.
Prices in Rhode Island are down 4 cents from a month ago, but the local price is 14 cents higher than the per-gallon national average.
Rhode Islanders were paying an average of $3.84 a gallon a year ago at this time.
Local prices ranged from a low of $3.64 to a high of $3.93.
