Gas prices holding steady in RI

Average cost of a gallon of gas in Rhode Island unchanged at $3.59

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) -- Gasoline prices are continuing to hold steady in Rhode Island.

The latest survey by AAA Southern New England, released on Monday, found that the average cost of a gallon of regular in the state is $3.59. The average price has been the same for three straight weeks.

Gas prices in Rhode Island are up 2 cents in the last month. The current price is 2 cents lower than the national per-gallon average of $3.61.

Rhode Islanders were paying an average of $3.54 a gallon a year ago at this time.
