Gas prices drop 3 cents in Rhode Island

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — Gas prices in Rhode Island have dropped a bit.

AAA Southern New England said Monday the average cost of a gallon of regular unleaded in the state is $3.95, down three cents from last week.

Still, gas is up 10 cents in Rhode Island in the past month. And the current price is 15 cents higher than the national average of $3.80 a gallon.

Rhode Islanders were paying an average of $3.67 a year ago at this time.
