Stockton Boulevard gas leak caused by underground construction

(FOX40.COM) — A natural gas leak in the Oak Area has caused Stockton Boulevard to be closed between Y Street and 2nd Avenue, according to the Sacramento Police Department.

The Sacramento Fire Department said the leak was reported around 10:36 a.m. in the 2700 block of Stockton Boulevard.

A 4 inch main line was ruptured by ongoing construction in the area. Pacific, Gas and Electric is working to stop the leak.

The public are being asked to avoid the area and find alternate routes.
