Garfield County anti-human trafficking operation leads to 10 arrests

DENVER (KDVR) — In early March, the Garfield County Sheriff’s Office, along with several other departments, conducted anti-human trafficking and fugitive location operations that resulted in the arrest of 10 suspects and the discovery of thousands of fentanyl pills.

The charges range from soliciting a child for prostitution to an arrest warrant for vehicular homicide. The sheriff’s office also said it found approximately 4.8 grams of methamphetamine and approximately 2,000 fentanyl pills during the arrests.

The sheriff’s office worked with the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, the United States Department of Homeland Security and other nearby police departments to arrest the following suspects.

Yoalmo Villacorta-Lovo, 30, Anderson Abarca-Garcia, 22, Oscar Peraza Romero, 25, and Exsequiel Peralta-Meza, 33, were all charged with:

  • Internet luring of a child, a class 5 felony

  • Soliciting for child prostitution, a class 3 felony

  • Patronizing a prostituted child, a class 4 felony

  • Sexual assault of a child, (attempted), a class 5 felony

Some suspects were also arrested under similar charges.

Jose Canas Guandique, 47

  • Internet luring of a child, a class 5 felony

  • Soliciting for child prostitution, a class 3 felony

  • Sexual assault of a child, (attempted), a class 5 felony

Adonis Felipe Nino, 27

  • Internet luring of a child, a class 5 felony

  • Soliciting for child prostitution, a class 3 felony

  • Patronizing a prostituted child, a class 4 felony

  • Sexual assault of a child, (attempted), a class 5 felony

  • Unlawful possession of a controlled substance

  • Drove vehicle while under the influence of drugs

Others were arrested due to preexisting warrants.

Jose Jimenz-Bautista, 33

  • Taken into custody on an active warrant for the sexual assault of a child and sexual assault on a child by one in a position of trust

James Fitzpatrick Peitler, 44

  • Taken into custody on an active warrant for the abuse of public records

Justin Zane Raulerson, 39

  • Taken into custody on an active warrant for menacing, harassment, and bias-motivated crimes

Milton Ferdyn Duarte-Garcia, 30

  • Taken into custody on an active warrant for vehicular homicide-reckless driving, criminally negligent homicide, reckless endangerment, false reporting, careless driving resulting in death and driving while license under restraint for an alcohol-related offense

Many of these cases are still under investigation and further charges may result from respective investigations, according to the sheriff’s office.
