Garden City man arrested on suspicion of raping, shooting at girlfriend

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — Finney County Sheriff’s deputies have arrested a Garden City man on suspicion of several crimes against his girlfriend.

A news release from the Finney County Sheriff’s Office says on April 2, deputies were requested to meet with a Finney County woman who had an altercation with her boyfriend.

Deputies arrived and found her with significant injuries, and medical care was requested. They learned the incident occurred over multiple days and involved the woman being shot at with a gun, battered, held against her will and raped.

‘Homemade pyrotechnic’ suspected in deadly explosion

Law enforcement identified a suspect, and he was located, arrested and lodged in the Finney County Jail on suspicion of:

  • Attempted Murder in the First Degree (Domestic Violence)

  • Aggravated Battery (Domestic Violence)

  • Rape

  • Aggravated Kidnapping (Domestic Violence)

  • Aggravated Endangering a Child

  • Possession of Methamphetamine
