Gaming Community Mourns 2 Killed in Gunfire at Florida Tournament
The two victims shot dead when a fellow gamer opened fire during a Florida tournament Sunday are being remembered by the gaming community.
Elijah Clayton, 22, and Taylor Robertson, 27, both became pro-gamers after successful high school football careers.
They were killed Sunday at a "Madden NFL 19" tournament when David Katz, 24, sprayed bullets inside the GLHF Game Bar in Jacksonville.
Katz was allegedly angry after being eliminated and after his shooting spree, which left 11 others injured, he turned the gun on himself.
Clayton was reportedly known as "one of the best in competitive 'Madden,'" according to the EA Sports website, while Robertson, was the winner of last season’s Madden Classic. Robertson was also a married father.
The gamer community took to social media to remember the players.
“Rest in peace to Eli Clayton @True__818 and Taylor Robertson @spotmeplzzz . Two legends who were taken away from us way before their time,” TroydanGaming tweeted.
Another "Madden" champion called Clayton his best friend in a tribute.
“I talked to u almost every day for the last 5 years. U were one of the most kind and genuine people I’ve ever met,” Twitter use “Kiv” wrote. “I love u like a brother. I’m gonna miss hearing you laugh everyday and seeing your genuine smile.”

True: a young kid with a whole world of opportunity in front of him.
My heart is heavy, today we lost 2 champions. Rest in paradise, brothers.

I posted a gofundme for a person in my class who died in a house fire bout a month ago.. True donated $100 and didn't even know the person. True and Spotme are 2 of the nicest people I knew. Idk what to say, nothing to say.. Prayers to their families and everyone else involved.
