GameStop seemingly confirms upcoming Pokemon game for Nintendo Switch
With just hours remaining until the Nintendo Switch presentation in Tokyo, Japan, the number one concern among gamers for the new console has to be the library of games that will be available within the first year of launch. The Wii U was a flawed experiment from the outset, but had Nintendo managed to attract third-party publishers and developer first-party games at a reasonable rate, it might have had a chance to succeed.
That’s one of the reasons why many were excited to learn late last year that a Pokemon game was reportedly in development for the Switch, and why a new leak from GameStop has gotten our attention.

Although it has since been removed, for a short time, a line of text on GameStop’s Nintendo Switch landing page hinted that an unnamed Pokemon game would be playable on the new hybrid console:
“You will even be able to play Skyrim on the go, or Pokemon at home with the Nintendo Switch,” reads the copy on GameStop’s website. We don’t want to read too much into this, but the way that the line is phrased makes it sound like Switch owners will have the ability to play a Pokemon game they’d normally play on a mobile device on a home console, which gives even more credence to the report about a third version of Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon codenamed Pokemon Stars.
Then again, this could be in reference to a completely separate, unannounced Pokemon title or it could simply be a clerical error on the part of GameStop. That said, considering how much Nintendo has riding on the success of the Switch, a full-fledged Pokemon game seems like a no-brainer.
