'Game of Thrones' star Sophie Turner transforms into tatted-up teen in 'Josie' trailer (exclusive)

As Sansa Stark on HBO’s cultural phenomenon Game of Thrones, Sophie Turner has often found herself at the mercy of powerful and conniving men and forced into wedlock or other precarious situations.

Her new role in indie drama Josie, however, marks a 180-degree turn for the English actress, whose credits also include X-Men: Apocalypse and the upcoming X-Men: Dark Phoenix. In Josie, Turner’s titular high schooler — a tatted-up Southerner with attitude to spare — seems very much in control of the circumstances around her.

Yet by the end of the exclusive trailer, above, the limits of that control are tested. That’s when Hank (Dylan McDermott), a security guard living at the same extended-stay motel who develops a questionable relationship with the youngster, takes a special exception to the actions of Josie and her friend Marcus (Jack Kilmer).

Directed by Eric England with a script by Anthony Ragnone II, Josie opens March 16.
