Galt Council to decide on interim city manager

Feb. 3—GALT — The Galt City Council will consider appointing Chris Erias as interim city manager during its Feb. 20 meeting, the city announced Friday.

City staff said Erias will bring a wealth of experience and an extensive understanding of the community, having previously served as Galt's community development director from December of 2016 until his departure to the City of Manteca in August of 2020.

Erias would take over for Lorenzo Hines, Jr., who resigned Friday. He had been Manteca's community development director the last three years.

"I am honored to return to a city where I have deep roots and a strong connection to the community," Erias said. "Galt holds a special place in my heart, and I am eager to hit the ground running alongside the dedicated staff and residents to address the opportunities and challenges facing our city."

Erias began his career in Galt as an associate planner in 2005, and rose through the ranks to become the head of the Community Development Department.

"We are thrilled to welcome Chris back to the City of Galt as our Interim City Manager," Mayor Paul Sandhu said. "His deep connections to the community and his track record of success make him the perfect choice for this role. We look forward to working closely with Chris to continue moving Galt forward."

Erias has a tentative start date of Feb. 26, 2024.
