Galaxy S5′s monster specs seemingly confirmed in new benchmark

One analyst expects Samsung to unveil at least two Galaxy S5 versions in the near future when it comes to overall specs, including a higher-end and a lower-end model, although both devices will be flagship handsets compared to the rest of Samsung’s lineup. And now a new benchmark leak seems to provide specs details regarding the less thrilling Galaxy S5 handset, the model that’s expected to pack “just” a Full HD display instead of a 2K one.

HDBlog reports the handset has been spotted in AnTuTu outclassing the Galaxy Note 3 – however such scores may no longer be relevant for Samsung devices considering that the company has been proven to intentionally bump a mobile device’s performance during benchmark tests.

What’s interesting is that the benchmark says the phone will pack a 1920 x 1080 display with 480 pixel-per-inch (ppi) density, 2.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor and Adreno 330 GPU, 2GB of RAM, 16-megapixel camera and 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera. This benchmark result is in line with a mid-December benchmark which also suggested the phone will be less stellar than anticipated, although still amazing compared with rival smartphones.

The new AnTuTu benchmark revelations also almost match what KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said a few weeks ago about the lower-spec Galaxy S5 in a recent note to investors. However, Kuo said this “Standard” Galaxy S5 version will pack 3GB of RAM instead of 2GB and have a Full HD display with 423 ppi density.

Samsung has been confirmed to unveil the Galaxy S5 flagship handset at MWC 2014. More images from this purported Galaxy S5 AnTuTu benchmark follow below.
