With an official title recently secured and a number of casting confirmations in the bag, the production of Wonder Woman 1984 is moving swiftly forward.

Now, via her Twitter account, lead actress Gal Gadot has treated fans to a new picture of the Amazonian ass-kicker in full costume from the set.

Never mind the FIFA World Cup, this is what the people have been truly waiting for...

Her costume for the sequel doesn't promote anything fresh at the moment, but then again, why try to fix something when it wasn't broken in the first place?

Gadot is a striking performer and this social media post will have superhero fans trembling with even more anticipation. After all, Wonder Woman is considered to be DC's finest cinematic outing and continues to empower millions.

Back in April, the Israeli actress touchingly honoured the original Wonder Woman's Lynda Carter, who received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

She took to Twitter to celebrate the 66-year-old's achievement, writing: "Congrats my beloved beautiful @reallyndacarter for receiving a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame."

"From the very first time I saw you, your grace, humour, and wisdom filled my heart and I knew why it was you who was chosen to embody Wonder Woman.

"Thank you for your loving kindness shared by the sisterhood of women of wonder."
